The Risk Mitigation Reference Guide for New Energy Financing

The reference guide authored by Energi is intended to give the lending community a clear understanding of green energy and energy efficiency projects, common risk exposures during construction and operational phases.

The objective is to give banks a tool for understanding one aspect of risk as they look to develop underwriting guidelines for green lending projects. The critical types of insurance for the majority of clean energy and energy efficiency projects fall under the Construction Phase Risk Mitigation, Production Phase Risk Mitigation and Warranty and Performance Risk Mitigation.

Case Study in Underwriting New Energy Loans: Energy Efficiency

The webinar will formally introduce the Risk Mitigation Reference Guide on New Energy Financing and present case studies on how a bank should analyze and underwrite an energy efficiency project. Presenters will walk through a real example of an energy efficiency project, summarizing the conservation measures, projected savings, customer profile and project economics. Presenters will discuss the insurance coverages that were used with additional insight given on risk mitigation tools that are critical to protecting stakeholder groups.
